ISPM No. 15 Wood Packaging Regulations

February 14, 2007

To: All Ocean Freight Exporters to Japan
Re: ISPM No. 15 Wood Packaging Regulations

To Our Valued Export Clients,

The implementation of ISPM No. 15 regulations regarding wood packaging into Japan will begin starting on April 1, 2007. Wood Packaging material (Wood packaging material, including pallets, dunnage, crating, packing blocks, drums, cases, load boards, pallet collars, and skids) that has not been certified as "heat treated" and been marked by an authorized supplier of acceptable material will be subject to "disinfestations, incineration, or re-shipping by consignee's choice according to the Japanese domestic law". Any material received into Japan after April 1, 2007 is subject to the regulation as stated.

Transcontainer USA, Inc. will begin holding LCL cargo received into our CFS location that is deemed unsuitable to ship to Japan beginning March. (See Below Schedule) We are arranging with these locations to have pallets that approved available for transloading if necessary. These will be available at a cost that can be arranged with the individual CFS operator. Transcontainer USA, Inc. will be up to the client to make arrangements to get the material compliant.
